Title 1: Geospatial and Numerical Synergy for Urban Innovation: The Case of Sofia’s Digital Twins
Speaker 1: Dr Lidia Vitanova
Speaker Bio: Dr. Lidia Vitanova is a Senior Researcher at the GATE Institute, Sofia, Bulgaria. With a multidisciplinary background in climatology and ecological engineering, her work focuses on urban climate, urban heat islands (UHI), environmental sustainability, renewable energy, and smart city technologies. In 2019, she obtained her Ph.D. in Urban Climatology from the University of Tsukuba, Japan. Her doctoral research, titled "Numerical Study of Urban Heat Islands in Sofia and Sendai with Current, Past, and Potential Land Use with Natural Vegetation. Dr. Vitanova has contributed to a range of international research initiatives in Japan and Europe, focusing on smart cities, low-carbon development, and climate-responsive urban planning and published in peer-reviewed journals and conference proceedings, with a strong emphasis on modelling, urban sustainability, and climate adaptation strategies.

Speaker 2: Dr Muralikrishna Iyyanki
Speaker Bio: Dr Muralikrishna Iyyanki is a distinguished academician and researcher with a Ph D from the Indian Institute of Science and was a former Professor in Geospatial Technology and Director R&D at JN Tech Univ, Hyderabad, India. Currently, he is an Independent Researcher, Entrepreneur, President of ISpace and Geospatial Project consultant & Chairman, ISPRS WG on Geospatial Environment and Health Analytics.
