ISPRS STEP University of Lagos Student Chapter
ISPRS STEP University of Lagos Student Chapter
The ISPRS STEP University of Lagos Student Chapter supports students' academic and professional growth in photogrammetry, remote sensing, and spatial information science. The chapter connects students, researchers, and professionals for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaborative research.
Based at one of Nigeria's leading engineering institutions, we are committed to advancing research in Earth observation, geospatial analysis, environmental monitoring, and urban development. We give students a platform for hands-on experience, interdisciplinary projects, and professional skills development.
Our objectives are to:
1) Build a vibrant community by organizing networking events, seminars, and hands on workshops.
2) Support professional growth through mentorship programs, technical training, student- led research projects, and skill-development activities.
3) Increase global participation by encouraging members to contribute to ISPRS STEP initiatives, attend international conferences, and collaborate on innovative projects in geomatics and environmental science.
Key activities include training on photogrammetry and GIS software, drone mapping workshops, data analysis hackathons, and joint research with other ISPRS STEP chapters.
We aim to bridge the gap between academia and industry, preparing our members to be leaders in the geospatial profession.
Through these efforts, the ISPRS STEP UNILAG Chapter strives to inspire the next generation of scientists and engineers to use spatial information technologies in addressing real-world challenges across Africa and beyond.
