ISPRS SC Iran - University of Tehran (ISPRS SC IUT) Student Chapter
The ISPRS SC IUT Student Chapter supports students’ scientific development in photogrammetry, remote sensing, and spatial information science, contributing to the ISPRS Student Consortium’s mission. Hosted by the Department of Remote Sensing and GIS at the University of Tehran, this chapter aims to connect students and professionals in these fields, offering opportunities for networking, knowledge exchange, and collaborative research.
With a strong foundation at Iran’s leading academic institution, the ISPRS SC IUT is committed to advancing research in Earth sciences, including environmental hazards, agriculture, and urban development. Our chapter provides a platform where students can engage with global networks, collaborate on interdisciplinary projects, and enhance their professional skills.
Our objectives are: 1) Build a vibrant community by organizing networking events, seminars, and workshops; 2) Support professional growth through mentorship, career-building activities, and student-led research presentations; and 3) Increase regional and global impact by promoting ISPRS SC’s initiatives and facilitating cross-departmental collaboration on innovative projects in fields like geoinformatics and environmental science.
Key activities include a structured work plan with phases focused on establishing the chapter, building networks, supporting skill development, and evaluating impact. In addition to local engagements, we aim to involve members in international ISPRS events, enabling them to contribute to high-quality research and stay connected with the global scientific community.
Led by Dr. Yousef Erfanifard and Dr. Ali Darvishi Boloorani (Academic staff), Moein Rangzan (Student Chapter Leader) and Masoud Soleimani (Student Chapter Co-Leader) and advised by Daryoush Halili (Student Chapter Advisor), the ISPRS SC IUT attempts to create a dynamic learning environment where students gain valuable exposure to state-of-the-art technologies and develop the expertise needed to advance spatial information science. Through these efforts, we aim to inspire and equip the next generation of leaders in applied remote sensing and photogrammetry.
