General Activities
The main activities of the ISPRS SC consist of, but are not limited to:
- Promoting ISPRS and the profession to students and the youth, to effectively familiarize and integrate them to the structure and activities of ISPRS;
- Organizing scientific activities and social events to provide opportunities for students and the youth to establish their professional networks;
- Planning and designing activities for students and the youth that will provide them with opportunities to attend ISPRS events at a minimum cost and thru scholarships/grants, if available;
- Acquiring sponsors and coordinating with The ISPRS Foundation (TIF) to provide financial support to qualified students and young professionals to participate ISPRS and ISPRS SC related events;
- Publishing papers about the activities, developments and advances in the ISPRS SC in conferences, particularly during the ISPRS Midterm Symposia and Congress;
- Publishing the ISPRS SC Newsletter regularly by collecting contributions from members and organizations, interviewing experts and professionals in the fields of photogrammetry, remote sensing and spatial information sciences and other significant articles that may provide knowledge and up-to-date information to the members;
- Maintaining and operating a domain on the World Wide Web and increasing the organization’s presence thru the use of social media;
- Keeping a constant communication with the members of the ISPRS SC;
- Recruiting interested individuals from regions across the globe to the ISPRS SC;
- Organizing activities at the ISPRS Congress, in coordination with the Congress Director and the local organizing committee;
- Organizing educational activities, trainings and workshops, such as summer schools, in connection with other events;
- Coordinating and supporting regional and national activities related to photogrammetry, remote sensing and spatial information sciences, and
- Initiating and maintaining cooperation with relevant international, regional and national organizations.
